How to Retrieve a Saved Car Insurance Quote
Most national carriers let you pick up a car insurance quote you started earlier, often with your ZIP Code and the email address or quote number you used. Below is where each carrier's own retrieve option sits, checked on its official website. If a saved quote can't be found, a fresh quote with the same coverage settings is the quickest fix.

Carrier notes
Progressive
Progressive's retrieve page has two ways in: by quote number (with last name and ZIP Code) or by email address and date of birth. The same page also retrieves motorcycle, boat, RV and other vehicle quotes, plus property quotes. If it can't retrieve a quote online, Progressive shows a phone number to finish it with a representative. More on Progressive's other tools is in our Progressive quote and calculator guide.
GEICO
The geico.com home page has a "Continue Previous Quote" button. We did not find a separate public quote-lookup URL. See our GEICO quote guide for what a GEICO quote includes.
State Farm
State Farm's retrieve site says you answer a few questions so it can locate your quotes, then view the details and pick up where you left off. If you started the quote with a local State Farm agent, contact that agent. Details are in our State Farm auto quote guide.
Allstate and Esurance
Allstate links a "Continue a quote" option from its auto insurance pages. Esurance is an Allstate company; esurance.com still shows quote buttons and a policyholder log-in, but we found no retrieve page for a saved quote. See our Allstate quotes and tools and guide to what changed at Esurance.
USAA, Farmers, The General and The Hartford
USAA, Farmers and The Hartford put the retrieve link right next to their quote buttons. The General has its own retrieve page that asks for your ZIP Code, date of birth and email address. USAA quotes are only for eligible military members and their families.
If you can't find your saved quote
- Use the same email address and ZIP Code you entered the first time.
- Search your inbox (and spam folder) for the carrier's quote email; it may include a quote number.
- Call the number shown on the carrier's quote page and ask them to look it up.
- Start a new quote with the same drivers, vehicles, limits and deductibles. Your old quote is then easy to check against the new one.
Compare a saved quote with fresh quotes
A saved quote shows the coverage you picked at the time. Before you compare it with other carriers, check that every quote uses the same liability limits, the same deductibles and the same optional coverages.
